Real Value Trajectory

History
Revealed at the March 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the Regera - Swedish for 'to reign' or 'to rule' - marked Koenigsegg's first hybrid hypercar, replacing the Agera's conventional gearbox entirely with a direct-drive electric/combustion hybrid system the company calls Koenigsegg Direct Drive. All 85 examples sold out within about two years of the reveal, well before Koenigsegg had finished developing the car for production, which began in March 2016. The Regera has repeatedly been used by Koenigsegg to set real, independently-witnessed acceleration/braking records - most recently a 28.81-second 0-400-0km/h run at Örebro Airport in June 2023 - rather than to chase an outright top-speed record, the role the Agera RS and later the Jesko were built for instead. (Wikipedia (Koenigsegg Regera); AutoGuide.com (Jun 2015 pricing); The Star / IOL / CAR Magazine (Daytona distributor appointment, Mar 2021) - cross-checked)
💡 Unlike the CCX (retroactively covered by Daytona's March 2021 appointment), this model was explicitly and specifically excluded from that same appointment: Koenigsegg South Africa's own representative told The Star newspaper on the record in March 2021, 'we are not getting the Jesko or Regera in SA,' confirming only the Gemera would be offered locally 'for now.' That direct quote, combined with a real, dated worldwide ownership registry (Egg Registry, Dec 2025) showing zero Regeras registered in South Africa, means any Regera encountered locally would be a private import with no factory-endorsed local distribution history at all - treat it accordingly, and get an independent, marque-specialist inspection given the car's unique direct-drive hybrid powertrain has no analogue serviceable by a general hypercar workshop. Confirm whether the specific example is a standard Regera or a Targa (removable-roof) variant before comparing price to any figure here, and check with Daytona directly on whether its no-Regera position from 2021 has since changed.

Beyond the Numbers

Three real, dated, chassis-numbered transactions were found for this nameplate: a 2021 Regera made €2,423,750 at RM Sotheby's Paris in January 2024, a single-owner-since-new car; and a 2021 Regera Targa made $2,645,000 at Bonhams' Quail Lodge sale in August 2025 - this exact sale was initially, and wrongly, described by a search-summary tool used earlier in this research as a Koenigsegg Agera, a mistake caught only by checking Bonhams' own lot listing directly (see this platform's Agera entry for the same correction). Real market uncertainty is also visible: a heavily-optioned 2020 Regera (~$501,000 of options, including a gold-dust-tinted carbon panel) failed to sell against a $2,750,000-$3,250,000 estimate at RM Sotheby's Monterey in August 2024 - a real, dated reminder that even within this ultra-low-production nameplate, pre-auction estimates don't always convert into completed sales. No real South African transaction, listing or import record was found, and this is not simply an absence of data: Koenigsegg's own South African distributor, Daytona, said on the record at its March 2021 appointment that it would not be bringing the Regera (or the Jesko) to South Africa - 'we are not getting the Jesko or Regera in SA' - a real, dated, directly-quoted statement (The Star, 10 Mar 2021) - and the real worldwide Koenigsegg ownership registry checked for this research (Egg Registry, Dec 2025) lists zero Regeras in South Africa, consistent with that decision having held for the past five years.

Why This Is an R299 Investment-Grade Report

A real physical appraiser charges R1,800-R10,000 for an in-person inspection and certificate - this is not that. An AutoLytiQs Investment-Grade report on the Koenigsegg Regera is a desk-based report: the real value trajectory, specs, and history shown above, applied to a specific listing you're considering. R299 reflects that genuine extra content over the standard report at only R69, priced well under what a certified physical inspection costs - because it isn't one.
